We send you a tablet (like an ipad) with a wireless scanner that instantly syncs. You simply need to sit the tablet next to your till, and when students show you their digital Unifi Card you simply scan the QR code on it. It takes under a second to scan. This will simultaneously verify the customer is a university student, and it will log their visit on the tablet. You can then grant them your student discount as usual, and you get a full customer profile that is looped into your system for life.

Each time a student scans their card at your venue, 1 points is awarded automatically. Students can keep track of their points, but if a student doesn't scan at your venue in 14 days, all of their points vanish and they have to build their streak again.

No till integration is required. The Unifi tablet works as a standalone system, so your current POS setup stays exactly the same. Scans are purely for tracking and rewards, not payments.

You choose. Students get a small reward when they reach 10 points, or a large reward if they reach 50 points. Popular examples include:

No, you don’t need to create a new offer just for us. The goal with Unifi is to funnel all your existing student offers through the platform—whether it’s drinks deals, food discounts, or happy hours.

If you already do any kind of student deal, we’ll promote and manage it through Unifi. If you don’t currently offer any student perks, then yes—you’ll need to set up a simple, generic student discount (e.g. 10% off or £3 pints) in order to be featured on the app.

When a student scans in, their name, email, and visit history are added to your venue dashboard—100% GDPR-compliant. You can download this data anytime to retarget students via email and grow your regular base.

When a student hits your loyalty milestone, their Unifi card will show a “Redeem” button next to your venue.

When they tap it, they generate a unique QR code for the specific reward you offer. You simply scan this code using your Unifi scanner or tablet to verify and fulfil the reward.

Once scanned, the reward is marked as redeemed on the student’s side—so it can’t be claimed again.
